Biking distance (15-20km)Pick up at your hotel in downtown Hanoi for a scenic 4 hrs. drive to Mai Chau. Located in Hoa Binh Province, Mai Chau is famed for its splendid vistas of mountains and valleys covered in lush forests and quaint villages, inhabited mainly by the White Thai ethnic minority. Upon arrival, check in and time to rest.
In the late afternoon, we will start our leisurely 2 to 3 hrs. cycling tour through Mai Chau and the minority villages that dot the valley. There you will have the opportunity to interact with local people and learn about their daily lives. Later, return to your hotel. Dinner will be served at the lodge.

Trekking distance (3-5km) After breakfast, drive to Mai Hich, where we begin our 2-3 hours trek. Enjoy the cool mountain breeze while walking along scenic mountain trails. There is a chance to experience a bamboo raft (at your own expense) before having lunch in a local home.
In the afternoon, relax in the hotel pool or walk to the nearby villages of Lac and Pom Coong to shop for handicrafts made by local artisans, or take a stroll around the village and enjoy a cup of coffee with the friendly villagers. This evening you will enjoy a traditional Thai performance of music and dance. The Thai ethnic group has inhabited this area for centuries and much of their lifestyle and traditions have remained unchanged over the years (this activity will be organized by the resort - there will be other guests joining).
