Depart from your hotel for 4 hrs. drive to Pu Luong. Situated on the way from Mai Chau to Cuc Phuong National park, it is a truly “off the beaten track” destination for those who are looking for a peaceful venue, stay away from the bustling life with the stunning rice terrace fields, beautiful nature, breathtaking mountain passes and traditional villages of ethnic minorities. Upon arrival, enjoy a tasty lunch while relaxing with its captivating panoramic views and tranquil setting.
In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the starting point which is about 12 kilometres then start walking to the suspension bridge over the Cham River. Afterwards, follow the river and continue walking to the water wheels, find out how water can move from the river to the handmade bamboo aqueducts via simple constructions of all sizes. Later, arriving at Chieng Lau village, where you can take a rest and enjoy tranquil streamside scenery. Return to the main road and transfer back our retreat.
After breakfast, start descending into the beautiful valley located in front of the retreat by walking through the stunning rice terraces then follow the small paths which are shrouding in vegetation to the picturesque village situated at the base of the mountain. Continue your journey by passing the local farms, villages and wild fields, ponds and rivers, mountains and open land. Savour the ever-changing scenery on your trek until reaching a spectacular spot and enjoy a simple picnic lunch. Afterwards, relax and refresh at the river nearby then head to the pick-up point and drive back to Hanoi.
