Hanoi - Mai Chau 4hrsA scenic 4-hour drive from Hanoi to Mai Chau. Located in Hoa Binh Province, Mai Chau is famed for its splendid vistas of mountains and valleys surrounded by lush landscapes and stilt houses, inhabited mainly by the White Thai ethnic group.
Upon arrival, check-in and rest in a while. In the late afternoon, take a leisurely 2 to 3 hours cycling tour through the beautiful valley of Mai Chau and the minority villages including the interaction with local people to learn about their daily lives. Later, return to your hotel and overnight in Mai Chau. Lunch is on your own.

Pu Luong Nature ReserveAfter breakfast, depart from your hotel for the 1.5-hour drive to Pu Luong. Situated on the way from Mai Chau to Cuc Phuong National Park, it is a truly “off the beaten track” destination for those who are looking for a peaceful venue, stay away from the bustling life with the stunning rice terrace fields, beautiful nature, breath-taking mountain passes and traditional villages of ethnic minorities. On arrival, start trekking through the beautiful scenery and the local villages before reaching Pu Luong retreat where a tasty lunch lunch will be served. Later, drive back to Mai Chau and the rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight in Mai Chau
HanoiToday is free at leisure to unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings before checking-out and driving back to Hanoi. Estimated arriving in Hanoi in the late afternoon.
Around 9 am, meet our representative in Sapa and start trekking to Cat Cat village which is home to the ethnic Black H’Mong. Explore a beautiful waterfall and the nearby remains of a hydroelectric power station constructed by the French during the colonial era then have lunch at Lao Chai. Follow a dirt trail that winds through the mountains and enjoy the spectacular scenery of terraced fields, and vegetable patches as you arrive at Ta Van village. Meet with the local family and help them to prepare dinner with some traditional dishes.
NOTES:
After breakfast, bid farewell to our local host and start trekking to Su Pan then connect to Ban Den village. Rest for a while at the waterfall on the way and continue your journey by passing through a bamboo forest. A picnic lunch will be provided or lunch at the local home will be arranged. Afterward, walk a bit before hopping on our vehicle and driving back Sapa Center.
