Food stalls on the streets of Bangkok can look a little intimidating to foreigners, but they provide convenient, delicious and cheap meals to the locals. Wherever you go in the city, these food stalls are plentiful and very often you will find a high concentration of them in particularly busy areas. Some street vendors operate in groups, often in local markets, which means you can go to the same place every night and have a different choice of meal. Some even open around the clock. The main attractions usually include noodle stalls, made-to-order food stalls, and 'curry on rice' stalls.
You should be able to figure out what kind of food a particular stall is selling by observing the ingredients in the glass display window and the way they're being prepared. There are many kinds of noodle stalls available; chicken noodles, duck noodles, egg noodles with wonton and 'moo daeng' (red barbequed pork), beef and meatball noodles, 'yen ta four' (noodles in red soy bean paste with fish ball, squid and morning glory) - the list is endless. The noodles themselves come in different sizes and shapes too.
Afterwards, you will be transferred by Tuk Tuk back to your hotel for relaxation. You will be back at the hotel around 10:00pm – 10:30pm.
After an early breakfast at around 07:00am, meet your guide at your hotel lobby and depart for a 1.5-hour drive to visit the Railway Track Market in Samut Songkram. This is a unique experience as you will see the vendors quickly pack up their stores as the train approaches the tracks.
Then continue to drive through Bangkok’s rural outskirts to visit Damnoensaduka Floating Market, stepping back in time to experience the traditional way farmers would trade their produce. The canals are lined with boats that are paddled by local women and piled high with vegetables, fruit and even souvenirs for the tourists. Almost always crowded with hundreds of vendors, purchasers and tourists, the best way to experience the atmosphere of the market is to board a rowing boat yourself and make your way through the small canals to buy fresh produce from the vendors. Sit back and soak up the atmosphere as the locals go about their daily life and entertain you with their haggling techniques. This is the only place to see the traditional way of selling and buying goods in Thailand.
Expect to return to your hotel around 2:00p.m.

After breakfast, meet with your guide at the hotel lobby at 8:30am and start exploring Thailand’s most northern city, home to about 65,000 people of whom 12.5% are ethnic hill tribes. The city was founded in 1262 A.D. and is home to a fascinating mix of Thai and Burmese architecture. Begin your tour by visiting the ancient temple of Wat Phra Kae, original home of the Emerald Buddha which is now housed in Bangkok. A replica was made and placed in the same spot where it was found. Continue with your visit to traditional Akha and Yao hill tribe villages. The Akha originated in Tibet and are among the poorest of Thailand’s ethnic minorities, whilst the Yao originated in China and are heavily influenced by Chinese traditions, still using Chinese characters in the writing of their language. Visit both villages and tribes and observe the differences between them.

This is the perfect spot to observe the border lifestyle. Mae Sai is one of the very few official land crossing points between Thailand and Myanmar. Many Burmese (or Myanmese) come over during the day from Thakhilek to work or do business, hurrying back home before sunset.
Lacquerware, gems, jade and other goods from Laos and Burma are sold in shops along the main street.
