ITINERARY/SCHEDULE

HCMC - My Tho (70km) 1h30m

Early in the morning we depart Saigon headed to the Mekong Delta city of My Tho. Our first stop will be the Vinh Trang Pagoda and diant images of Buddha. Afterwards, after a short bus ride, you start the first cycling stage. About 15 km by bike on a street with little traffic through palm groves and along quiet canals - again and again with stops - until you reach Ben Tre, a charming little town on the banks of the Mekong, where you spend the first night in a hotel right on the river.

Regional travel (depends on multiple factors)

After breakfast you cycle from the hotel, along the river to the Cho Lach and An Binh, to visit its coconut groves, which have made Ben Tre known as the Coconut Kingdom.

We will also stop at a small artisanal business that make a great variety of products from coconut. In the afternoon you will reach Cai Be and have the afternoon free at your riverside accommodation.

Bicycle route: About 15 km 

At around noon you board your cruise boat and make yourself comfortable in your cabin. Enjoy lunch while the ship takes off. Lean back and enjoy the fantastic views - the lush jungle, small canals, the diverse everyday life of the people in the Mekong Delta. Round off the day with a drink at the bar while the sun sets over the magnificent water landscape of the Mekong. You stay overnight on board your floating hotel in the middle of the Mekong Delta.

The next day, your cruise ship sets off at sunrise. Watch the Mekong Delta come to life again. Then you continue to Long Xuyen and take a bike tour through the beautiful tropical vegetation and small villages.  In the afternoon you take the ferry to Tiger Island, a small, picturesque island in the middle of the Mekong, where you will spend the night and have dinner at your local homestay.

Overnight in Tiger island.

In the morning you can experience the rhythm of life here on the island and watch the residents doing their daily activities. Then you explore the island and its narrow paths by bike.

After our bike tour the ferry brings you back to the mainland, from where we will transfer to Chau Doc on the Cambodian border. In the afternoon you move into the hotel in the lively border town of Chau Doc and visit the Sam Mountain with its temple which attracts hundreds of pilgrims every year.

Bike route: about 10km 

Overnight in Chau Doc.

After a hearty breakfast, our bike route will take us through the idyllic rural landscape of Chau Doc - past rice fields, small plantations and dreamy villages to Tra Su, where you will take a rowing boat trip. Discover this unique Kajeput forest, home to many species of birds and other animals. Later you drive to Can Tho, the largest city in the Mekong Delta.

Bike route: About 20km 

Overnight in Can Tho.

In the early morning you visit the lively floating markets of Can Tho by boat, where agricultural products from all over the region are sold from dozens of boats. Afterwards we reach an orchard, where you can sample fruits from the Mekong Delta. Moreover we transfer to Vinh Long, where you will get on your bikes again to explore the islets of An Binh and Dong Phu, then drive back to Saigon in the afternoon and arrive back in the metropolis in the evening.
