What Phra That Doi Suthep

This is one of our favorite temples in Thailand, for its beauty and location. A must-visit when in Chiang Mai, the site oozes spirituality, and it is a popular destination for meditation and Buddhism courses.

Chiang Mai Night Market

The Chiang Mai Night Market, or Night Bazaar, is by far the most popular market in the city. Here you can find t-shirts, jewelry, souvenirs with elephant prints, etc. It is the perfect place to buy a souvenir of your trip to Thailand. It is open every day from 6:00 p.m. to midnight. Close to the historic center, the market is accessible on foot from many of the city’s hotels.

Lantern Festival

Marvel at a explosion of light and color in the city of Chiang Mai. The Chiang Mai Lantern Festival is an incredible event that takes place every 12th Lunar month. All around Chiang Mai you will see thousands of lanterns (khom loy) float up into the sky, candles lining the little sois (lanes), special parades and krathong (floating flower offerings) floating on the Ping River.
